The image on the left is a wonderful piece by Ty Carter. As a warmup exercise this morning, I attempted to copy the basic lighting (without color dropping) on a slightly different design. Fun exercise. Looking at them afterward I see a lot of subtlety that mine doesn't quite capture. If you've never seen Ty's work, check it out here:
